Hi there!

about Us

We are Anna and Anne—German globetrotters, full-time travel bloggers, married couple, passionate travelers, coffee lovers, and your local guides for your next vacation in Germany!

Our adventures have taken us all over Europe and around the globe.

We backpacked through Italy with Eurorail, explored Sweden and Greece in our campervan, and even traveled the Panamerican Highway from North to Central America.

Along the way, we encountered so many warm and generous people who made our travels easier and more enjoyable.

Their kindness inspired us to give something back to travelers visiting our home country, Germany.

That’s why we founded GermanyThingstoDo.com—to share valuable information, experiences, and local tips so that others can enjoy an unforgettable journey through Germany

We understand the value of thorough information when visiting a new place, as we love being well-prepared for our own travels.

If you’ve never been to Germany or traveled overseas before, let us be your guides and local contacts here.

We’re the ones who can call a tourist information center for a specific information or ask hotels if they have air conditioning (it is rather rare!).

We love getting in touch with our readers, so don’t hesitate to reach out with your questions.

We’re here to help make your trip to Germany as smooth and enjoyable as possible!

Our mission

Travel Germany Like a Local

in your own travel style!

Our mission is to help you explore Germany in your own way.

We get it—some folks are all about the fairytale castles, while others can’t get enough of WWII history, the breathtaking Alps, or finding the best local beer.

🇩🇪 We’re here to help you find your Germany. 🇩🇪

And honestly, we know that Germany (and Germans!) might seem a bit different from what you’re used to.

Since we’re Germans, we know the little surprises that can trip up visitors. We’ve seen tourists puzzled over why smaller bakeries don’t have English menus or wondering why their card won’t work in a cash-only shop.

And yes, finding a public toilet can be a real challenge—it’s not as simple as it is in some other countries! That’s why we share common tourist mistakes and local quirks. It’s all about making sure you’re well-prepared and can navigate Germany like a local without any unexpected surprises.
